The vine

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener... Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me."

These are the words of Jesus to his disciples in John 15.

Yesterday we gathered as a church family, we ate together, read and sought to obey God's word, we worshipped and prayed together into the night, we enjoyed the presence of Jesus among us, we read more of God's word, we lifted the needs of our brothers and sisters in other nations to God and the needs of our neighbours and friends.

I woke this morning feeling, yes.. a little tired.. but also full, satisfied, a bit braver, hopeful, expectant. As I prayed, I heard God's voice, I sensed his Spirit. I am full of joy.

Thank you, friends for entering into this adventure with us. Thank you for all that you have sacrificed and given in order to serve God together, here in the city of Bradford.

Thank you for stepping out in faith, for looking for opportunities to be obedient to God's word. Thank you for praying and walking, for reading God's word and praying and praying. Thank you for abiding with us in the vine.

Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy

Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy

I recently had the incredible privilege of visiting Antakya, a beautiful city in the South of Turkiye that was among the worst affected by the recent earthquakes in February. It’s been hard to know what to share since I have returned.

Keeping it simple

Keeping it simple

It's super easy to make things complicated. It's almost as if we do it by default. We do in so much of life. We also do it in our walk with Jesus, both alone and together as the church.
