Prayer promises

We find ourselves praying a lot right now. There is a lot going on. Although we have so much to pray for, sometimes it can be hard to know what to pray. And when the issues we are praying for seem so big and terrible, it can be easy to lose heart.

I was recently given a list of prayer promises - scriptures that tell us what God says he will do in response to our prayers. It is by no means an exhaustive list but it is an encouraging one. Perhaps we cannot see what God is doing but we know that he is moving in the spiritual realms because his people are praying and he has promised to respond. Have a go at speaking some of these promises out to God in your prayers this week. Are there any more promises in the bible that encourage you to keep praying?

Isaiah 65:24
Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.
Jeremiah 33:3
‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’
Matthew 21:22
“If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
Matthew 7:7-8
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
John 15:7
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
John 14:14
You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
Hebrews 4:16
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy

Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy

I recently had the incredible privilege of visiting Antakya, a beautiful city in the South of Turkiye that was among the worst affected by the recent earthquakes in February. It’s been hard to know what to share since I have returned.

Keeping it simple

Keeping it simple

It's super easy to make things complicated. It's almost as if we do it by default. We do in so much of life. We also do it in our walk with Jesus, both alone and together as the church.
