How to start a group

If you look at our track record this year, the title of this blog should really have a question mark at the end of it because in all honesty, we are struggling to get groups to start. But we are learning a lot about this and we know that we need your prayers.

When we talk about a group, we mean a group of non-believers who are willing to meet together to read the bible through regular discovery bible study. In movements all around the world, these groups are journeying together, from the story of creation to the birth of Christ, then onto the life and message of Jesus and how to become his disciples, eventually forming churches and starting more groups. Our role is to find people of peace who will start these groups and then to disciple their leaders as the groups journey together towards faith in Christ.

A friend and coach who lives in Türkiye and has seen multiple groups start tells us that seeing a group start is always a miracle. So as we pray for groups whether that’s here in Bradford or across the UK and all nations, we are praying for miracles.

We are asking God to lead and connect us, we are seeking to be faithful and sow seeds wherever we go, trusting that they will grow whether we sleep or work. Mark 4:26-29. We are waiting for miracles to happen. Please pray for us to meet people of peace in our communities. Please pray for people we’ve already met and shared with to be hungry to discover God through his word. Please pray for groups to start.

I recently had the incredible privilege of visiting Antakya, a beautiful city in the South of Turkiye that was among the worst affected by the recent earthquakes in February. It’s been hard to know what to share since I have returned.

Keeping it simple

Keeping it simple

It's super easy to make things complicated. It's almost as if we do it by default. We do in so much of life. We also do it in our walk with Jesus, both alone and together as the church.

The One who knows our needs

The One who knows our needs

Praise God! I am so grateful for the way that Jesus meets our smallest and biggest needs - all we have to do is bring them to him.
