God knows our hearts and directs our steps

We’ve reflected many times here on the ways that God loves to work in the big and small stories in our lives for our good and for his glory.
He knows each of our hearts and loves to work in partnership with us as we seek opportunities to share his love with the people around us.
I want to tell you about three women. The first, I met with her young daughter in the park last June. She told me her name and I told her that I would see her in the park again but then our family contracted covid and we were stuck in the house for weeks. I had no way of contacting this lady so I prayed for her for the rest of the summer. In October, I met her again in the home of a christian friend who had befriended her, unknowingly answering my prayers. I am going to this lady’s house tomorrow and praying for an opportunity to share a bible story with her.
The second I met on a prayer walk with Chris. Her little boy loved our dog and I asked her for her name and hoped that I would bump into her again. Again, I began to pray and look out for her but did not see her, until she came along to the parenting group that I attend at school. I was able to tell her that I had been praying for her and that I will keep doing so.
The third walks past me on the opposite side of a busy main road every morning and evening as we take our sons to different schools. We smile and wave at each other and I have been praying for her and her family - last week we were able to connect and swap names, this week we met again and exchanged numbers.
Three beautiful women, who I had no connection with but who God put on my heart and asked me to pray for. He has shown me that he directs my steps. He has shown me that he knows my heart. He has shown me that he cares about the people I encounter when I walk the streets with him.
So keep your eyes and ears open this week - who do you notice? Who is God prompting you to pray for? Perhaps you don’t even know their name, don’t worry, God does! Don’t give up, keep praying and trust that God will direct your steps.

Faithfulness is Success
One key lesson we’ve learned is that faithfulness is success. Gary Galanos, our disciple-making coach, often reminds us that we aren’t responsible for the outcomes, only for being faithful to what God has called us to do.

Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy
I recently had the incredible privilege of visiting Antakya, a beautiful city in the South of Turkiye that was among the worst affected by the recent earthquakes in February. It’s been hard to know what to share since I have returned.
