Focus

On Sunday at our ongoing coaching meeting, we ended up talking about where God was asking us to focus.

We have been given an incredible vision to see an entire city come to know Jesus, but that is our God-sized vision - it is too big for us.

As we listen to and learn from disciple-makers around the world, we see that they ask God to show them where he wants them to focus their prayers and time among the lost. In the same way that Jesus sent his disciples out to the towns and villages that he was going to visit, so we want God to show us where he is going to move so that we can go out before him, praying and building relationships in the places he is going to be.

The next step that I have committed to this week is to simply pray and spend time asking Jesus where he wants me to focus my time, praying and building relationships.

How about you? Is there a people group on your heart, or an area of the city that you feel God leading you to pray for? Why not join me in asking God this week to give you a focus and then, let’s all support each other in praying and spending time among the different people that he is giving us to love.

If you’d like to join our ongoing coaching meetings with River City on Sunday evenings from 7-8.30pm they are open to everyone, we find them so encouraging and helpful and would love you to make them a priority in your diaries too. Please let us know if you’d like to come along.

Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy

I recently had the incredible privilege of visiting Antakya, a beautiful city in the South of Turkiye that was among the worst affected by the recent earthquakes in February. It’s been hard to know what to share since I have returned.

Keeping it simple

Keeping it simple

It's super easy to make things complicated. It's almost as if we do it by default. We do in so much of life. We also do it in our walk with Jesus, both alone and together as the church.
